Narendra Modi's Flight Travel Expenses; 1484 Crores Spent Since 2014-17
Naveen Kumar (Author) Published Date : Jul 20, 2018 05:30 ISTThe minister of state for external affairs, V K Singh has shared the details of Modi's flight expenses to the Rajya Sabha and it is estimated as 1,484 crores including chartered flights, maintenance of aircraft and hotline facilities. An amount of over 1080 crore was spent on the maintenance of the PM's aircraft and around 380 crores on chartered flights during his foreign travels and expense on hotline was Rs 9.12 crore from 2014-17.
Modi visited a total of 84 countries in 42 foreign trips since taking charge as prime minister in May 2014. In 2014-15, Modi had visited 13 countries, in 2015-16 he visited 24 countries and 18 countries in 2016-17. So far from 2017-18 Modi travelled to 19 nations including his last visit to China.
The minister also added that this is the widest reach by a prime minister and this has resulted in establishing a good relationship with other nations and involvement of foreign partnerships in India has been enhanced.
