Night school takes the No.1 spot in Domestic Weekend; Emerges as top Comedic Opening in 2 years

Tiffany Haddish and Kevin Hart starrer Comedy film Night School takes the top spot in the domestic box office for last weekend. The film also marks the highest opening for a comedic film in the past two years. With $28 million in the US box office, Universal get its third film to contribute their top opening comedic films after Girls Trip and Blockers.
The movie had high box office projections even before the release and it met the expectations by performing high at the domestic box office. The comedic film smashed the much-expected film of the weekend Smallfoot. The animation film collected $23 million falling behind the opening figures of Night School.
Though the opening was big, Night School got a mixed response from the audience and critics while the animation film Smallfoot got some good reviews and expected to grow over the other releases and the box office topper to emerge as a winner.
Jack Black starrer fantasy film The House with a Clock in Its Walls collected $12.5 million in its second weekend of run taking the third spot at the weekend box office. Followed by the films, A Simple Favor and horror sequel The Nun takes the next places with $6.5 million and $5.4 million respectively taking the total of The Nun to $109 million at the domestic box office making it the highest collected movie of the Conjuring franchise.
