Many kids who are young than the other class mates develop ADHD symptoms more quickly, the age gap can make a vast difference in behavior according to the researchers. An analysis of the results showed that frequently using multiple forms of digital media was associated with a higher likelihood of ADHD symptoms.
ADHD is a neurodevelopmental disorder, which affects mostly children and teens . Those who have ADHD symptoms may have trouble in controlling their behavior, impulsive behavior with over activity, being unable to sit or wait for their turn. They act without thinking and interrupt conversations. ADHD rates have been increasing among the American teens, over the past two decades the ADHD had steep increase from 6% to 10%, according to a recent study. Doctors rely on their medical examination, parental or teacher�s reports, but no other tests were available to diagnose the disease.
Dr. Andrew Adesman, chief of developmental & behavioral pediatrics at Cohen Children's Medical Center, New York states that the study has confirmed that the youngest children within a grade are more likely to be diagnosed with ADHD than are the other oldest children in that same grade.
Adesman, said this study suggests that parents of kids who are young for their grade who have ADHD symptoms wanted to repeat a grade, as it will give a child time to maturity and a better behavior in future. The findings were published Nov. 28 in the New England Journal of Medicine. Various other issues such as overcrowding, family problem, friendship problem, grasping power may also influence ADHD.
Adolescent boys and girls also develop ADHD symptoms. They refuse to ask for any help which they need and cannot mingle easily with their friends. They also have low frustration tolerance. Attention Deficit Hyper activity can be overcome by healthy sports,listening to music or doing their tasks according to their passion A research warns the adolescents who frequently use digital devices are more likely to develop these symptoms.
Adult ADHD symptoms may include prioritizing their tasks, poor time management, problem in multitasking works, excessive activity in their daily works, and disorganizing their schedule. People with ADHD focus well on the tasks that are interesting to them and get highly frustrated on the tasks they are not interested.
