The Atkins diet concentrates on controlling the insulin level in the blood, by focusing on a lower intake of carbohydrate.  This type of food is suitable for a diabetic patient as well as obese or overweight people.  Refined carbohydrate food is worse for diabetic patients.  The people who follow the Atkins diet can eat as much as protein and fat as they like and they diet no restriction.  Atkins diet has some health risks, which should be consulted with the doctor before choosing this type.

The Zone diet which aims with 4 parts of carbohydrates with 3 parts of the protein and 3 parts of fat in each mean, which also controls insulin level and more successful weight loss approaches. The ketogenic diet helps in the treatment of epilepsy.  This diet focuses on less carbohydrate and more healthy fat-rich products such as avocados, coconuts, olive oil, which contains good cholesterol.  This diet breaks the deposited fat and produces ketones, which results in the risks of ketoacidosis with type 1 diabetes patients.  This causes diabetic coma or even death for patients suffering from diabetes.   

Studies show that the Vegetarian Diet enhances the immunity level and the people who are consuming this type of food are at low risk of diseases and have a longer lifespan.  Vegans diet includes only plant products and excludes any type of animal product including milk or honey, which would benefit the environment indirectly.  Weight watchers diet focus on weight loss through exercises.  Mediterranean diet focus on plant foods and fruits including beans, nuts, whole grains for proper nutrition.
