Day 1 of the 1st test match between India and England has ended with a great show of bowling from India towards the end of the day. England started with a solid batting line up and put 216-3 on the scoreboard during the second session of the game.
After that Indian bowlers took the momentum and by taking continuous wickets ending the day with a score of 285-9. Ashwin performed well with the ball making sure the spin variations are good in the pitch. Ashwin bagged 4 wickets so far Shami with 2 wickets and 1 wicket each by Umesh and Ishant.
Joe Root scored the maximum runs for England with 80 runs followed by Johnny Bairstow (70) and Jennings (42). Sam Curran and Anderson are in the crease for the last wicket and looking to put possible runs on the scoreboard. Today is going to be an interesting day in Edgbaston to see the Indian batting and hosts bowling attack with the experienced seamer Anderson and the young talented spinner Adil Rashid looking for a comeback through bowling.
