Indian Team after losing in the England ODI series is avoiding to address the issue of collapse in the middle order batsmen slot. The number 4 spot in the team is still haunting since none of the players proved themselves in that spot. Having in mind about 2019 Worldcup which is to be held in England, the team has to work on this issue to build a solid team having top-class batsmen.
India has changed 10 batsmen for the fourth spot and none had a consistent stand on the middle order. Here is some possible list of players who can comeback or some already in the team, can perform strongly on the spot.
Ambati Rayadu is an explosive batsman who recently showed his capacity in the IPL 11 by giving a top performance of his career has failed in the physical test and did not enter the team. Seeing his consistency in all batting positions, its worth giving a chance more than anyone.
Ajinkya Rahane is out of ODI team due to the lack of consistency, but people know about his ability to handle bowlers in foreign soil. Now, its completely up to him to prove his consistency by scoring and proving himself.
KL Rahul who is already in the team capable of performing in the opening and middle order too. Since he didn't perform in the match against England as a middle-order batsman, still, he needs to prove in coming days.
Yuvraj Singh is one batsman who made a mark as one-down batsman played as No.4 batsman in India's winning world cup and proved his ability. But due to lack of performance and fitness, he didn't play for the Indian team for past 1 year and was not able to make an impression in IPL too. But working on his weakness and performing big in domestic cricket can earn him a spot in the team.
Shreyas Iyer who consistently performed in IPL hasn't proved himself in the national team in the few chances given to him. But testing everything before the WC is needed and a chance is worth a shot.
Dinesh Karthik is the most talked about wicket-keeper batsman for his performance in recent times. But the lack of performance against big teams makes the selectors think about his spot in the team.
Manish Pandey is an unexpected choice to be made for the middle order. At the need of the moment, if he makes his consistent performance like he did in IPL then India can find the vacant spot filled with a solid backing batsman.
