Airtel Rs 597 Plan Takes On Jio Long Term Plans

Reliance Jio is popular for its unlimited voice calls, SMS benefits and extensive data usage for long-term. All these made Jio cover a wide reach among the mobile users in India. Under Jio's 999 long-term plan, 60 GB data can be used for 90 days and it also offers unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS per day and under Rs. 1,999 plan, 125 GB data, unlimited voice calls, SMS benefits can be availed for 180 days in all telecom circles of India.
Periodically, Airtel has been involved in offering counter plans for Jio's every data plans. This time, Airtel aims to counter these Jio's long-term plans by launching 597 recharge plan offering unlimited voice calls, SMS and mobile data offer for 168 days (nearly 6 months) in various telecom circles of India.
In detail, Airtel offers 10 GB data, 100 SMS per day for the entire 168 days upon 597 recharge, according to recent reports. Already, similar such benefits were available in Airtel recharge plans but it costs more than Rs.1,000.
Now, Airtel has reduced the plan cost price to counter Jio. But, the only drawback noticed is the non-availability in all telecom circles of India. However, the plan could be able to compete for the long-term plans of BSNL and Jio amidst certain drawbacks.
Already, Jio has announced extra 1.5 GB daily data usage for all its prepaid plans up to June 30 to counter the Airtel's last week announcement of providing 1 GB extra data usage for its plans.
