WhatsApp Allows iOS And Android Users To Prioritize Notifications And Dismiss Group Admins

In January 2018, Facebook-owned WhatsApp had already announced the new "Demote as admin " feature in Group Info settings in the Android Beta version 2.18.116. But, it was removed in the latest Android version 2.18.117 citing beta testing. Now, the same feature has come into use in the latest Android version 2.18.116 and iOS version 2.18.41 for WhatsApp users in a different name "Dismiss as Admin".

Making use of the new feature, WhatsApp Group Administrators/Group creators can dismiss another admin without deleting their contact and re-adding them as participants. By doing so, the admin would be demoted as just an ordinary participant.It seems WhatsApp is improvising the power of Group Admins in upcoming years and making them convenient in managing their groups.

If an admin wants to demote other admin, initially, he has to click on dismiss as admin feature in Group Info Settings. Consequently, the contact will be deleted from the group and he has to again re-add him. This has to be done for dismissing admin for the first time. For the second time, if the Group Admin has to dismiss another admin, he need not follow the same procedure as above, instead, he can just long press the contact and click on dismiss as admin feature that appears.

Another new feature added is termed as High Priority Notifications that is similar to pinned chats facility made available in the mid of last year. Pinned chats facility allows WhatsApp users to chat with their dear ones without the need of scrolling down by crossing other chats. Clicking on the pin at the top of WhatsApp screen, the pinned chats would come to the top in the chat list making ease for users. Maximum three pinned chats could be maintained.

High Priority Notifications feature lets a user pin the incoming notifications of any individual or group chats. This is done to prioritize the chats and moving the related chat notifications to the top when received.

In recent times, WhatsApp has been in full-swing to ease the chatting of its users. Previously, It has introduced similar new features such as retrieval of the old deleted or accidentally deleted messages without any time limit and allowing senders to delete their messages in group chats.
