According to the recent statement from Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook-owned WhatsApp has 1.3 billion users worldwide and is available in 50 different languages. It has recently complied with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in Europe thus raising the age limit to 16. Now, it has also made an update to the Payment feature of WhatsApp.
WhatsApp has more interesting and must needed updates arrived in the recent past months. WhatsApp has been updated for Android beta version 2.18.132 with another feature called "Restrict Group" thus enhancing the admin control in Groups i.e., it allows only Group admin to modify group's subject, icon and description. The feature will be available for iOS and Windows users soon. Already, a similar feature "Group Description" is available in Telegram.
In order to modify any group info, admins can start with Group Settings option in Group Info and click on Edit group info to head to Restrict Group feature. There will be two options displaying showing 'All participants' and 'Only admins' and if the admin selects the second option, other participants in the group will not be able to alter the group info except Group Admin. They can alter until the feature is turned off. Group Admins can avail the feature by installing the latest version available in Google Play Store.
Already, WhatsApp previous update involve demoting a group admin by another group admin/founder as a normal participant in the group. Also, WhatsApp allowed the sender to delete any sent messages in WhatsApp group chatswhile the above option is unavailable earlier. In addition to this, a feature is also expected to be built to restrict the messages of participants and they have to seek permission from group admin if they want to post in a group.
