WhatsApp Payments Allows Android Users To Avail The New Request Money Feature

Whatsapp is the world's largest messaging platform being used by over 1.5 billion people. On Tuesday, a new Request Money feature has been added by WhatsApp Payments on Android beta version 2.8.113. With this feature, Whatsapp users can request money from anyone in the contact list and the other user not necessary to use Whatsapp and he/she may be using any other payments app but should have UPI id. The feature is absent in other Android versions of Whatsapp available with the only option of Payment.
Whatsapp payment feature is working on Unified Payments Interface (UPI) through which payments could be made by UPI ids to be linked with a bank account that has to be merged with the mobile number using Whatsapp for sim verification.
Request money option already exists in Payment apps such as Paytm, PhonePe, Google Tez and others. Now, it is made available in Whatsapp Payments that allows users to demand money after scanning a QR code or entering UPI ID. The procedure for availing the service is as follows: Settings - Payments - New Payments - UPI ID or Scan QR Code. After that, a pop-up appears and provides two options 1) Pay Money (Send Money if you scan QR code) 2) Request Money.
Request money option has a time limit of 24 hours within that only it is vaid. Whatsapp shows the status of requests list in the Payment Settings. When the demand for money is accepted, money shall be credited to the user's bank account. Also, Whatsapp Payments is currently available in India only.
Previously, WhatsApp has announced the updates regarding retrieval of accidentally or old deleted messages and deletion of messages in group chats by the sender. Again, these features also could be availed by Android users using beta version 2.8.113. Also, the un downloaded media that could not be accessed after 30 days can now be retrieved without any time duration.
