Heavy Rains In Western Japan Raises Death Toll Haji River Flood Warning Issued

Western Japan regions were the worst hit due to historic rainfall that started its downpour on Thursday and is still continuing. According to the recent reports by Saturday morning, at least 15 people died and 40 people were injured with 50 people went missing including the damage of over 500 homes as informed by the Japanese Government.
Previous reports mentioned about three deaths due to landslides and earlier, a man was caught in a drainage pipe and an old woman fell down due to high winds.
Haji River flood warning has been provided at around 7.30 am today morning and the local residents have to evacuate immediately and move to elevated areas because the Hiji river water level has already touched its highest-ever level and it is expected to go beyond the embankment.
Already, thousands of people in the Japan's ancient capital Kyoto had evacuated and the emergency situation has been maintained even now in other prefectures like Tottori, Hyogo, Fukoka, Saga and Nagasaki.
Mudslides has become common in several areas owing to heavy rains. Two men were buried alive in mudslides when their houses were hit badly. Also, an old woman's corpse was found on a building's second floor when it was hit by mudslides today morning. these two incidents took place in the Ehime Prefecture.
Landslides and flooding were are also seen in Hiroshima prefectures where rescue operations are being held to search for injured or dead people.
Japan Meteorological Agency also forecasted a heavy downpour in Kyushu, Chugoku, Hokuriku and nearby regions on Sunday. Also, Typhoon Maria has got severed in the deep Pacific Ocean and it is expected to hit the Okinowa islands in the South-west of Japan.
