Tsing Yi Island is linked by a highway to the neighboring island of Lantau, where Hong Kong International Airport is located.
The wounded were cared for on the side of the road before being transported to four hospitals, according to local television channels.Many of the wounded are in serious condition, according to the South China Morning Post. One of the passengers said the bus, which was traveling fast, collided with a taxi parked at the edge of the road with its hazard warning lights on, according to the newspaper.
